Taliesin West Theater Space
Do you know why Frank Lloyd Wright located the seating at a slight angle rather than facing direct to the viewing area? It has something to do with his understanding of human behavior. Post your ideas!
Okay...here's some insight to his knowledge. FLW understood that a viewer would want to face forward. The seating angle forces the body to respond by crossing the left leg over the right and reaching the right arm behind the person sitting to their right to rest it on the back of the seat behind them. This, therefore, causes the audience to interact with each other by moving into each others personal space. Genius!
